IWP plant to generate steam,
which will then be fed into a steam turbine to produce electricity.
Western
Power is but one company interested in acquiring more energy. Western
Power has forecast growth in demand of some 700 megawatts over the next
10 years. Under the Kyoto Protocol (1990), of which Australia is a signatory,
a portion of this must come from renewable energy sources. Biomass combustion
has been identified by Western Power as one of the cheapest sources of
renewable energy.
