Oil Mallee Industry Draft Code of Practice v2

The commencement of visible construction work on the Narrogin Integrated Mallee Processing facility (IMP) will commence soon and will serve to focus planning for the supply of mallee biomass to the IMP and other industries utilising oil mallees. This has highlighted the need for uniform industry standards to be developed and recognised by all industry participants.

A working group consisting of industry representatives has been drafting a "Draft Code of Practice v2" PDF (100KB). This document, in broad terms, summarises the desired standards for key industry players such as nurseries, contractors and growers and describes the practices of the industry to others including local government, transport contractors, regulators and industry. Upon completion the "Draft Code of Practice v2" PDF (100KB) will be a document for addressing requirements for renewable energy legislation, possible export conditions and carbon sink and other governance.

It is anticipated that the final version of the Code of Practice will be available in April 2003.

Please do not hesitate to contact Tym Duncanson or Ben Roberts at the OMA office on 08 9433 4690 if you require more details of this proposal.
