How do I order some oil mallees?

Oil mallees can be ordered by contacting the Oil Mallee Company, or your local Region Manager.
Region Managers are available to visit your property and offer advice on site selection, species selection, planting configurations and site preparation - all at no extra cost.

Orders are taken from August / September onwards each year, and ordering early guarantees you supply of high quality oil mallee seedlings, at the best price. Late orders increase risk and uncertainty for the Oil Mallee Company, Region Managers and Nurseries. This risk is partially offset by marginal increases in seedling prices for late orders.

Seedling prices increase by 2 cents at the end of November, and a further 2 cents from January 1st on.

Prices for the 2002 planting season are as follows:

Date Ordered Seedling Price NHT Subsidy GST Total Price $AUD
Up to November 30th 0.27 0.12 0.04 0.43
Dec 1st - Dec 31st 0.29 0.12 0.04 0.45
Jan 1st Onwards 0.31 0.12 0.04 0.47

OMA is currently offering eligible growers a 12c / seedling NHT subsidy. Region Managers are available to help determine eligibility (See below).

NHT Subsidy 2002 Planting:

The remaining NHT funding support for oil mallees needs to be committed prior to 30th September 2001 to ensure that surplus  funds do not have to be returned to the NHT Secretariat at the conclusion of the project (No. 983394 Regional Integration of Oil Mallee into Revegetation Practice, a three year project which concludes on September 30th 2001).  The full uptake of this subsidy will result in 10.56 million oil mallee seedlings being planted with NHT support from seedling subsidies, plus many biodiversity plantings, over a three year period.

To ensure that the seedling subsidy is utilized by those for whom it was intended we have adopted the following policy for this season:

·         Growers who have planted during the years of 1999, 2000 and 2001 have first right to the remaining subsidy.

·         Confirm expressions of interest with your local OMC Region Manager prior to 31st  August 2001, for 2002.

·         ‘First in best dressed’ – subsidy will be available on a total of 1.25 million seedlings only for 2002 plantings.

·         If expressions of interest  do not account for all available seedlings by the 31st August 2001, then they will be available to any takers during the month of September.

·         No other NHT seedling subsidy will be available from OMA/OMC for the 2002 plantings once the 1.25 million seedlings are placed.  Growers should endeavour to access further seedling support from their local catchment groups.
